Join us on 7 May 2024 from 10:30 to 16.15 CEST in Brussels, when the Liberal Professions Category of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) proudly presents the 8th edition of the Day of Liberal Professions. This year’s theme ‚Professional Support for the EU Blue Deal‚ promises to be an exciting platform for Europe’s leading professionals. Together with key policy makers from the European Commission, European Parliament and Member States, representatives of the liberal professions will seek solutions to address the growing challenges related to water.
Water is a vital but an increasingly scarce resource. As the global population grows, so does the demand for water. Almost two thirds of European citizens consider water quality and/or quantity in their country to be a serious problem. Climate change will further affect the availability, quality and quantity of water. Without action, water scarcity and poverty could concern ever larger parts of civil societies around the world, with far-reaching implications for food security, the environment, human health as well as economic, social, and political stability.
During this conference, participants will discuss the ways in which liberal professions can help find innovative solutions to put an EU Blue Deal in place and to mitigate the water-related challenges that Europe and the world will face in the years and decades to come.
